Twas the night before dispatch, when all through the streets
Not a technician was stirring, not even to fix the heat.
Phones were hung up in the office with care
In hopes that a ring would fill the air.
Dispatchers were nestled all snug in their desks,
Visions of schedules bounced in their heads.
The manager in his office, and I in my cube,
Had just started watching a software demo on YouTube.
When out in the call center there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my chair to see what was the matter.
Away to the break room I flew like a flash,
I bust through the door and tipped over the trash.
Over the room was papers scattered like snow
It gave the impression of chaos with nowhere to go.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But our operations manager, phone to the ear.
He was a little excited, so I had to check,
I knew in a moment it must be Euclides Tech.
More rapid than eagles the solutions they flew
He whistled and shouted what we needed to do!
“Now faster! Now better! Field services they’re fixing!
On mobile! On dispatch! There’s nothing they’re missing!
To the north, to the south, for Spring and for Fall!
Dash to your jobs, go answer the call!”
As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.
Over to the computers the employees flew,
There’s a schedule full of jobs, thanks to the Euclides Tech crew.
And then in a twinkling I heard on the phone
The sound of requests to fix the equipment they own.
As I drew in my head and was turning around,
The operations manager stepped up without a sound.
He looked me in the eye and knew just what to do
Asked me to assemble the field technician and crew.
A bundle of devices the operations manager had flung on his back,
He looked like he had some tablets ready to unpack.
The field tech eyes twinkled, they seemed so merry
Even the ones who still use a Blackberry.
All who were there were given a mobile device,
Did not matter if they were naughty or nice.
“You can now use technology along with the cloud,”
The ops manager stated softly, not at all loud.
“Organize your schedules, monitor your productivity,
Get work done with maximum efficiency.”
With integration to systems,
No need for cables,
We barely had to move,
No chairs, not even tables.
Without another word, he walked over to dispatch.
He clicked a few buttons and pushed the on the switch.
And laying a finger alongside the mouse,
Giving a nod, he was ready to leave the house.
As he walked away, he gave a small whistle,
Then away he flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim using wireless connections in the air,
“For field service solutions, Euclides Tech will be there!”
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a Joyous New Year to Everyone!
